Up the Creek!
October Issue
Mecca Glen "Principal of the Day"
The students of Mecca Glen showed
PRIDE as they ran for Terry Fox on
September 26th. Servus Credit Union
graciously donated water bottles for the
participants, while Mecca Glen School
Council provided watermelon snacks for
everyone after the run. After the run,
we had draws for Rip'n Ronnie's
Fitness refillable water bottles, and for
Terry Fox t-shirts!
It was a great after-noon! The winner of Princi-pal for the Day was Carter Makofka, a grade six student. He raised the most money of all the elementary students! He was assisted by Jonah Harvey and Shania Kjenner to perform administrative duties for the day! The new admin team was surprised when they received numerous phone calls from Wolf Creek's Superintendence team! Together they visited each classroom, reported on student behavior and teacher preparedness; conducted morning announcements, pre-pared and ran a student assembly, as well as a fire drill! At the end of the day they gave out freezies to all of their students!
When asked how the day went, the students thought it was pretty cool to have Carter for a Principal!
