Up the Creek!
October Issue
Even the kindergarten class has an I Can statement that reads: "I can work with my class to accomplish a group goal." The students at Iron Ridge Elementary Campus took this statement very seriously when they set out to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation on a cool October day. In fact they really went far beyond their goal of raising $700.00 and managed to raise more than $5000.00! It just goes to show what a little motivation can do.
What student wouldn't love a chance to dunk their teacher in a pool of cold water? As a reward to stu-dents for raising the money (and as a great School Activity), teachers, educational assistants and administrators each took a turn on the Dunk Tank Hot Seat. Students whose names were drawn got to try to Dunk-Their-Teacher. Staff got into the spirit of things by coming in scuba gear, rain hats and bringing their beach towels. Some even brought their rubber duckies for comfort!
